• The Construction Unit is responsible for all of the base’s infrastructure and its area of responsibility, both in terms of the functional continuity of the infrastructure of buildings and systems and in terms of ongoing maintenance (breakdown, preventive, planned). In addition, the unit manages the base’s reinforcement and renovation projects. Most of the Construction Units are heterogeneous and include IDF civilian employees, permanent personnel, and soldiers. The Unit is divided into the following bodies:
• • Engineering Department – the department responsible for all projects in the unit – management with contractors and manufacturing departments and use as an implementation integrator in the characterization, planning and execution stages.
• Under the department, there are usually manufacturing departments – CME (engineering mechanical equipment), locksmithing, carpentry, construction and maintenance. • Systems Department – the department responsible for the systems infrastructure at bases in various areas: electricity, water and sewage, air conditioning, diesel, heating, and more. Under the department, there are usually production departments – electricity, generation, water and sewage, air conditioning, and machinery.
