The Air Force Training Division is responsible for training instructors and training future professionals in diverse roles, using central training bases such as the 21st Air Base in Haifa (the technical division), the 501st Air Base in Uvda (the aviation/combat support division), and the Palmach UAV Operators School, and trains technicians, pilots, flight controllers, and more, with the aim of supporting modern air combat.
Central units in the training system:
• 21st Technical College (Haifa): The central training base of the technical system, including the Technological College and the School of Technical Professions (BIST) for training technicians and engineers.
• 501st Aviation Professions School (BISM) (Uvda): Trains soldiers for roles such as firefighters, operations clerks, TSA interpreters, computer personnel, and more
• The School for Drone Operators (Palma): Designed for training pilots of remotely piloted aircraft.
• The School for Air Traffic Control (Bibop 528) (Uvda): For training flight controllers.
The functions of the formation:
The training focuses not only on the technical aspect, but also on training instructors for essential combat support roles, combining theoretical and practical knowledge, including matriculation exams in core subjects, and training the future generation of Air Force personnel.
The purpose of the formation:
To ensure the highest professional level among the professionals serving in the technical and aviation formation, from ordinary soldiers to officers and adjutants, in order to maintain air superiority.
