Border Guard combat instructors are the professional authority responsible for training fighters to carry out their complex missions on the Seam Line, in Jerusalem and in special operations.

What do they do?

Combat instructors are responsible for acquiring and maintaining advanced combat skills:

LOATR (combat terrorism) training: Providing training in breaking into buildings, fighting in built-up areas and taking over terrorists.

Krav Maga: Training fighters in self-defense, neutralizing suspects without firearms and dealing with knife attacks.

Professional weapons training: Providing marksmanship courses, pistol certification and the use of riot control measures (PSD measures).

Special units training: Escorting and training elite units such as the Special Forces (undercover) and the Tactical Brigade.

Combat fitness: Building dedicated training programs to improve the endurance and strength required for field missions.

Instructor training

The training course for a combat instructor is long and in-depth, and is based on previous operational experience:

Fighter stage: Candidates are required to complete basic training 05 at the Border Guard Military Academy (Mechmas) and serve as full-fledged fighters in the various units.

Identification and selection: Fighters who demonstrate high learning and training abilities, charisma and professionalism undergo rigorous selection tests.

Specialized training courses: Passing professional courses at the Border Guard Military Academy or at specialized schools (such as the LOTAR Instructor Course or the Krav Maga Instructor Course) that last several months.

Police certification: Since the Border Guard is a police force, the instructors are also qualified in the legal aspects of policing powers, use of force and opening fire instructions.

Richard McClintock, a Latin scholar from Hampden-Sydney College, is credited with discovering the source behind the ubiquitous filler text. In seeing a sample of lorem ipsum, his interest was piqued by consectetur—a genuine, albeit rare, Latin word. Consulting a Latin dictionary led McClintock to a passage from De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum On the Extremes of Good and Evil, a first-century B.C. text from the Roman.

Carried only by professionals

So when is it okay to use lorem ipsum? First, lorem ipsum works well for staging. It’s like the props in a furniture store—filler text makes it look like someone is home. The same Wordpress template might eventually be home to a fitness blog, a photography website, or the online journal of a cupcake fanatic. Lorem ipsum helps them imagine what the lived-in website might look like.
