Regional Division Arazim in Lebanon 1982-1985

$70.00

The Arazim Regional Command was established under the Adal (South Lebanon Region) in 1982, before the establishment of the IDF in 1983.

The Arazim Regional Command was responsible for the Jazin and Jabal Baruch sectors and constituted the command authority for all mountain posts.

Jabal Baruch (Arabic: جبال الباروك; in Hebrew also called Jabal Baruch) rises to an altitude of 1,943 meters. The mountain is part of the Mount Lebanon Range and the second highest peak in the Shof Mountains.

At the end of the Lebanon War, the headquarters of the regional brigade, which was called the “Arazim Brigade”, was established in a building intended to be used as a hotel.

The regional brigade headquarters also housed the northern corps headquarters.

Approximately 4 kilometers north of the brigade headquarters was another outpost, located in a building built as a wireless communications relay station. The building was nicknamed “the antenna” by IDF soldiers, after the tall antenna in it.

The northernmost outpost on the mountain, which was also under the responsibility of the regional brigade, was the Havatzelet outpost.

The purpose of the outpost was to secure the town of Jazin on the southern spur of Jabal Baruch, and to secure the road from the Bekaa to the Lebanese coastal plain. Jabal Baruch also constituted a strategic point facing the Syrian forces.

In one of the mountain outposts, the first permanent outpost of Unit 5707, “Netz 1”, was established, which assisted with fire-observation-and-sight, in destroying Syrian targets.

The Arasim Regional Brigade existed until the IDF withdrew to the security zone in April-June 1985.

Yasl was the name of the Adal unit at the end of 1982 when it was disbanded – for about a month under the command of Major General Maimon. And within a month its name was changed to Yakal and the late Meir Dagan became its first commander. The definition of the regional brigades was made after 1985. Until 1985, when Yakal was established – the unit operated in the format of Adal and dealt, among other things, with the establishment of the SDA. When writing “facts”, it is advisable to stick to the truth…

The northernmost outpost was Haraduf, about one hundred and fifty meters from the Syrian commando forces. From the outpost you could see the Beirut-Damascus highway and the city of Beirut and the city of Damascus. An intelligence force would watch from there into Damascus and its suburbs.

Richard McClintock, a Latin scholar from Hampden-Sydney College, is credited with discovering the source behind the ubiquitous filler text. In seeing a sample of lorem ipsum, his interest was piqued by consectetur—a genuine, albeit rare, Latin word. Consulting a Latin dictionary led McClintock to a passage from De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum On the Extremes of Good and Evil, a first-century B.C. text from the Roman.

Carried only by professionals

So when is it okay to use lorem ipsum? First, lorem ipsum works well for staging. It’s like the props in a furniture store—filler text makes it look like someone is home. The same Wordpress template might eventually be home to a fitness blog, a photography website, or the online journal of a cupcake fanatic. Lorem ipsum helps them imagine what the lived-in website might look like.
