טייסת 115 (“הדרקון המעופף” או “הטייסת האדומה”), שפעלה כטייסת ביום אויב (2005-2025), לבשה דרגות וסמלים על רקע אדום כדי לדמות את מערך האויב באופן מוחשי. הטייסים והמפעילים היו לוחמים מנוסים מהטייסות המבצעיות, אשר אימצו תורת לחימה (תו”ל) רוסית וערבית, השתמשו בכינויים ערביים ופעלו במסגרת “כוח אדום” לאימון מתקדם.
מאפייני הדרגות והסמלים בטייסת האדומה:
- רקע אדום: כלל הדרגות (דרגות כתף/חזה) וסמלי הטייסת נענדו על רקע אדום, בניגוד לרקע הרגיל בחיל האוויר, כדי לייצר בידול חזותי ו”אווירת אויב”.
- סימון מטוסים: מטוסיה (F-16 C “ברק”, “סייפן”, “ינשוף”) סומנו בסימונים מיוחדים המדמים מדינות אויב.
- בעלי תפקידים: בטייסת שירתו אנשי צוות אוויר מהטייסות המבצעיות המהווים “ליבה” ללימוד תו”ל אויב, כולל מפקד גף ביום אויב וקציני הגנ”א.
