·        The ABM Unit (Security and Operations) is the historical name of the Nachshon Unit, the central operational arm of the Israel Prison Service (IPS). The unit was established in 1973 by Zvi Givati ​​as the operational arm of the IPS. Since 1993 it has been called “Nachshon”, (after the biblical Nachshon ben Aminadav), which is responsible for escorting prisoners (including high-risk prisoners), transporting detainees, securing courts, responding to special events, and maintaining security in prisons during unusual events. While maintaining high operational competence.·        • Structure and personnel: The unit includes approximately 180 units, divided into operational arms (fighters), intelligence and investigations, and command coordination.
