(Air Force Base 5) was an Israeli Air Force air base that operated at El-Arish Airport in the Sinai Peninsula.

- History: The base was originally operated by the Egyptian Air Force (and was numbered 259). It was captured by the IDF during the Six-Day War and used as an Israeli base for about 18 months.
- Activity: Due to the limitations of the airfield, it was used mainly for light aircraft and helicopters. It served as a permanent base for the 66th Anti-Aircraft Battalion and as a deployment base for flight school training.
- Closure: Following the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt, the base was evacuated and closed on May 23, 1979. Two days later, the area was transferred to the Egyptians.
Today: The site serves as the Egyptian-controlled El-Arish International Airport
In fact, it was from this airport that the Egyptian Air Force's Spitfire planes took off when they were on their way to bomb the city of Tel Aviv and surrounding communities during the 1948 War of Independence.
About eight years after that war, as part of "Operation Kadesh," this base was captured by IDF forces and in 1956 was reactivated by the Israeli Air Force for a few months.
